Amman - QNA
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour has said his country is keen on boosting economic relations with the UK in particular and the European Union in general, stressing the need for encouraging the UK private sector to import Jordanian goods, namely pharmaceuticals, Dead Sea products and agricultural products. This came during Ensour’s meeting here Tuesday with Baroness Morris of Bolton, the newly-appointed UK Trade Envoy to Jordan. They also discussed means to cement economic ties and trade exchange between Jordan and the UK. The prime minister said the government is committed to providing an investment-friendly climate for British investors to seize available investments opportunities and enter regional markets through Jordan. He referred to a number of domains with investment potential such as technology-transfer, energy, cars, jewelry, food production, construction and ICT. For her part, Baroness Morris said her country is keen on enhancing economic ties with Jordan to serve both countries interests. Baroness Morris was appointed to the post following talks King Abdullah II held with British Premier David Cameron who visited Amman earlier this month.
