Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) Chairman Mohammad Al-Hadeed described Kuwait as a world leader in humanitarian work. "Kuwait is a humanitarian role model for the whole world," Al-Hadeed said in a statement to KUNA Monday. Al-Hadeed, currently on an official visit to Kuwait to partake in the 2nd Syria donors conference scheduled on January 15, added that Kuwait Red Crescent Society's relief projects and humanitarian aid have made a great difference in the Syrian refugee camp in Al-Zaatari, Jordan. He pointed out that the 2nd donors conference will be held in a critical time as the number of internally and externally displaced Syrians and their needs are greatly growing with the deterioration of the security situation in Syria. Al-Hadeed thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for hosting the first and second Syria donors conference last January. He urged the world countries which will partake in the second conference to be as generous as Kuwait. Kuwait hosted last year the first Syria donor conference and donated USD 300 million. The conference raised USD 1.5 billion of aid pledges.
