Jordanian foreign minister Nasser Judeh held talks here Saturday with Russian special envoy to the Middle East peace process, Sergei Vershinin, on efforts to push forward the peace process. Both parties reaffirmed importance of reviving direct and serious negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians to ultimately reach a two-state solutions that would establish the independent and viable Palestinian state living side-by-side with Israel in peace and security, a foreign ministry statement said. Judeh said Jordan was interested to seeing a final solution for the Palestinian cause because it was linked with Jordan's interests. He also highlighted the important Russian role within the international diplomatic Quartet. Vershinin appreciated Jordan's efforts to reaching peace and stability in the Middle East.
