Jordan’s Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Fayez Tarawneh met here Wednesday with the French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. Tarawneh reiterated Jordan’s fixed stances towards various regional issues, including the Syrian crisis, lauding the French assistance and support for Jordan’s efforts in dealing with repercussions of hosting Syrian refugees. He noted the economic hardships in Jordan and said the Syrian crisis added more burdens, especially as Jordan deals with tens of thousands of Syrians, calling on the international community to exert more efforts in this regard. For his part, the visiting French minister said that his visit to Jordan aimed to exchange political views on the regional situation. He praised the friendship between the two countries and peoples at various levels.
