Deputy Ibrahim Kanaan said "those who are criticizing the Orthodox Gathering election law are not presenting another serious law draft instead." Kanaan's fresh stance came Tuesday in the context of the regular weekly meeting for the Bloc of Reform and Change at General Michel Aoun's residence in Rabieh. Aoun reiterated his support for the Orthodox Gathering law since "it ensures true half-by-half authority share between Christians and Muslims and is typically constitutional - especially that officials must respect the Constitution." Kanaan called upon the government to haste to decisively assist citizens badly affected by the latest torrential blizzard that hit Lebanon.
