Afghan President Hamid Karzai has denounced the Taliban killing of civilians as “massacres of Muslims.” The comments follow a suicide attack on a funeral in eastern Afghanistan on September 4 that killed 25 and injured 30. In a written statement posted on Afghan Press Online, Kazai said: “The enemy of Islam and of Afghanistan must understand that they will never succeed by pressuring the public through such brutal acts of terror to achieve their heinous goals.”
