US Secretary of State John Kerry

US Secretary of State John Kerry phoned on Friday Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on the crisis of Egyptian nationals kidnapped in Libya, Spokeswoman for the US State Department Jen Psaki said.
In the call, Kerry stressed his country's condemnation of the incident and reiterated the strategic partnership between the United States and Egypt, Psaki said.
The spokeswoman expressed her country's sympathy with the Egyptians who face this tragedy, their families and the Egyptian people.
About Egypt's deal with France to buy Rafale fighter jets, Psaki said that Egypt is a sovereign state and has relations with other states including the United States.
