The Election Commission of Pakistan headed by Justice (r) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim has selected Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan, with the consent of a majority of the electoral votes of the members of the committee. The Commission used its powers after a parliamentary committee and leaders of political parties failed to agree unanimously on a candidate to head the transitional government. Khoso told reporters after the announcement of his appointment as caretaker PM of the transitional government, that he will manage the affairs of the country until the completion of holding of the next general election. He said that holding of election in a fair and transparent manner will be his top priority and he will form a cabinet composed of 10 to 12 members. According to official reports the caretaker PM will sworn in tomorrow before President Asif Ali Zardari.
