His Majesty King Abdullah II returned home Wednesday after participating in a Pan-Muslim summit held in Mecca upon the invitation of the Saudi Monarch Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz to bolster Islamic solidarity. During his Saudi trip, the King also performed Umrah, or lesser pilgrimage. In his speech at the summit, King Abdullah said the Muslim world is undergoing unprecedented historic challenges and transformations which require closer Muslim cooperation and solidarity within a unified vision derived from the essence of Islam. At the summit, his Majesty voiced appreciation and support for the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to establish a center for inter- sectarian dialogue, to be based in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh, saying it will effectively contribute to strengthening Islamic solidarity and unification of Muslims in addressing major challenges facing the Islamic nation. On the sidelines of the summit, His Majesty held meetings with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki and Lebanon\'s Prime Minister Najib Mikati. In the meetings, the King discussed bilateral relations and latest developments in the region. King was accompanied by Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh, Royal Court Chief Riyadh Abu Karaki, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Imam of Royal Family Ahmed Hilayil .
