Gaza City - Arab Today
Deputies of the Israeli Knesset will be able to learn spoken Arabic in the near future, Israel Today reported on Monday.
The idea of organizing this course belongs to the Director General of the Knesset Ronen Raft, and it was approved by speaker Yuli Edelstein.
Raft said the deputies would do well to speak the language, having the status of second state language of Israel. He also raised the example of the Jewish members of the Arab colleagues who teach Hebrew.
The website of the Knesset indicated that the first course enrolled not less than 20 members, including Tzipi Livni, Amir Peretz and others.
