Head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo Ajni Sinani lauded Wednesday the role played by Al Azhar Al Sharif, in defense of Islam and its rulings.

In statements to MENA, Sinani affirmed that Al Azhar will continue to be a lofty edifice symbolizing moderateness in the Islamic world.

A large number of Kosovan preachers and imams are graduates of Al Azhar, Sinani said.

The Kosovan people love Egypt, being one of the first countries in the world that recognized the independence of Kosovo, he added.

As for conditions of Muslims in Kosovo, Sinani said they are 95 percent of the population. Almost one mosque is built in Kosovo every month, he added.
