The National Assembly has approved a bill on an exceptional rise to the pension of armed forces, police, national guards, and fire service retirees. The bill, passed Wednesday by an absolute majority of the votes, 39 MPs voted for the bill compared with only two MPs who voted against it, has been referred to the cabinet for final approval. As per the bill, the monthly pension of officers and soldiers, who served for more than 25 years, will rise by KD 400 and KD 300 respectively. The monthly pension of those who served less than 25 years will increase only by KD 250.
