Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah will attend a conference on sustainable development in the UN and a summit to face violent extremism.
The Kuwaiti emir will head for New York Sunday to lead his country's delegation at the 70th UNGA session, Kuwaiti newspapers said.
Kuwait's permanent representative at the UN Mansour al Otaibi said that the Kuwaiti emir will attend two summits on the sidelines of the UNGA meetings, adding that this reflects Kuwait's interest in the multi-party work to face major international challenges.
The participation of the Kuwaiti emir in the United Nations summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda will be held on September 25-27 is a historic and unprecedented event, Otaibi said.
The Kuwaiti emir will deliver his speech on September 26 where he reviews Kuwait's vision and faith in the collective international work and the importance of sustainable development, he said.
He will also participate in the summit on combating terror and Daesh at an invitation from US President Barack Obama.
