As Kuwait's national celebrations continue to go underway, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Saleh Al-Duaij lauded the strong and the ever-advancing bilateral ties with Jordan.In a meeting with the press on Monday, Al-Duaij noted that Kuwait and Jordan always strive to develop their relations through many domains to achieve peace, security and economic stability.The great attention given by the leadership of the two countries has caused bilateral ties, especially the economic ones, to flourish and hold high ground. Kuwaiti investments in Jordan have hit the USD 12 billion, forming a role-model to be followed in the Arab region.Kuwaiti investments in Jordan helped raise the country's economy, improve government budget and ease off unemployment rates; these investments can be seen in hospitality industry, hospitals, real estate, exchange markets and industry sectors. The envoy added that Kuwait offered a grant of USD 1.25 billion to Jordan, as part of the GCC grant to aid in Jordan's developments plan. Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has also help Jordan finically; KFAED's first agreement was signed with Jordan in 1962. Projects done in Jordan through the fund have reached 25 with a value of USD 650 billion, the envoy noted.On regards to trade volume between Kuwait and Joran, Al-Duaij explained that Jordan's imports from Kuwait in the past 11 months of 2013 amounted to USD 160.7 million while exports during the same period reached USD 123 million.Meanwhile, Kuwait's imports from Jordan in the past 11 months of 2013 have amounted to USD 156.5 million, while the exports, during the same period, hit USD 95 million.The Kuwaiti envoy stressed the two countries will remain improving their trade volume to be at the same level of their political relations.
