His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet about a Monday meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers, chaired by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, rotating GCC President, and attended by Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. His Highness Sheikh Jaber said the meeting touched upon ways of removing obstacles hampering common Gulf action, as well as exchanging views over regional affairs with the aim of boosting regional peace and security, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in a statement after the meeting, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister. His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak also briefed the cabinet members about outcome of his recent visit to Tunisia where he represented His Highness the Amir to celebrations of the new constitution. He also briefed them about his meeting with Tunisian President Moncef Marzouqi, where he handed over a letter from His Highness the Amir congratulating him on this occasion. First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, meanwhile, briefed the cabinet about a recent visit of the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby to Kuwait and his meeting with His Highness the Amir, all within preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit, due in Kuwait on March 25-26. Deputy Premier and Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj also briefed the cabinet about his participation in the Government Summit, which was recently held in Dubai, the UAE. The ministers, on the other hand, discussed a host of political matters.
