Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed preparations for the international Geneva-2 conference for the Syrian settlement by telephone on Sunday, according to Russian Itar-Tass news agency. On Saturday, the Syrian National Coalition agreed to participate in long-awaited peace talks planned in Geneva. The conference is opening on January 22.
