Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet in Zurich on Wednesday for talks on Syria and Ukraine,Tass News Agency reported.
During a telephone call, "Lavrov and Kerry agreed to hold a personal meeting on January 20 in Zurich," the Russian foreign ministry said Thursday.
In Washington, Kerry's spokesman John Kirby confirmed the meeting, and said the US side had raised concerns about Russia's tactics in the conflict in Syria.
In December, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution endorsing a peace process to end the nearly five-year war in Syria, without touching on the contentious issue of the fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
