A court\'s ruling releasing former president Hosni Mubarak pending his retrial over complicity in killing protesters during the January revolution was \'not a surprise\', a lawmaker has said. Commenting on the ruling Monday, Ezz el-Din el-Komi of the Shura Council\'s committee for human rights said that the verdict was expected, as it is based on the articles of the penal code which stipulate releasing any suspects held in custody for two years. \"We had introduced a bill before to amend such articles, but media highlighted the bill as it was tailored for Mubarak himself, which resulted in aborting the bill\" and Mubarak could get out of jail, el-Komi, who is also Freedom and Justice Party\'s lawmaker of Qena, elaborated.
