The Lebanese army attempted to reopen a road blocked by citizens in the northern city of Al-Mahamara causing unrest that resulted in the killing of one person on Friday. Ali Mahmoud Bahsa died of wounds he sustained in an exchange of fire with a unit from the Lebanese Armed Forces while attempting to reopen the blocked Minyeh-Akar international road, the Lebanese national news agency said. The agency added the road was now reopened after youths blocked the road in protest to one of the locals' arrest by army intelligence.
