Lebanese President Michel Suleiman has received a written message from King Abdullah II of Jordan dealing with bilateral relations and joint cooperation regarding the latest developments in the region. The message was delivered by Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh during a meeting with President Suleiman today. On the other hand Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih discussed with the Jordanian Foreign Minister bilateral relations and current developments. Judeh said the main theme addressed during the meeting was the humanitarian consequences of the crisis in Syria, noting in this regard that Lebanon and Jordan bear a heavy burden due to the flow of Syrian refugees into the two countries. He added that his talks with Lebanese officials focused on the need to unify the language of communication with the international community, international organizations and donor countries to enable countries bordering Syria deal with the current humanitarian consequences. On the position of Jordan towards the Syrian crisis, the Jordanian official renewed his country’s emphasis on a political solution that guarantees the halt of violence and killings and the start of a transition phase that maintains Syria’s territorial integrity, security and stability.
