Lebanese President Michel Suleiman reiterated his rejection to extend his term to expire in May, the date set for presidential elections. In a statement to the Lebanese Annahar newspaper, he dismissed fears by several Lebanese politicians that he might be re-elected, saying he does not want to extend his term. Something important related to Lebanon is to happen in the new year as a result of the international community's efforts to support Lebanon but he declined to reveal more details. In response to a question about the date of an international meeting to be held in Rome to help the Lebanese army, he answered it could "probably be held in March".
