Lebanon Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Makati met here today with the Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok, in the presence of the European Union's (EU) Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst, and two German parliament members. Brock, in a statement after the meeting, stressed the European side's interest in the stability of Lebanon, and noted the importance of cooperation between all the religious groups. With respect to the Geneva 2 conference, Brock expressed hope that the upcoming Geneva negotiations are successful.
