Libya intends to ask the UN Security Council to lift its arms import embargo as the country plans to rebuild its arm forces following the ousting of Colonel Gaddafi, prime minister said Wednesday. The United Nations imposed the arms ban when uprising began in 2011 to protect the civilian population. Since the revolt, Libya has tried to improve security but has stryggked to form a new army as widespread militias create instability in the North African country. From: RT
