Tripoli - QNA
Libyan Prime Minister Mustafa Abu Shagour on Thursday met with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, currently on a visit to Libya. The meeting discussed a number of issues on bilateral cooperation, and means of enhancing and developing them to better serve joint interests. Burns discussed earlier Thursday a number of issues with Libyan Foreign Minister Ashour Bin Khayyal, notably bilateral relations. During the meeting, the US official stressed that the violence at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi a week ago will not affect the U.S.-Libyan relations, but rather will serve as an incentive for more cooperation in order to assist Libya during its political transition period. Burns arrived in Tripoli today on a two-day visit.
