A number of Israeli machineries this morning made a limited incursion near the border strip in southern Gaza. Palestinian sources said Israeli machineries were combing territories east of Khan Younis, adding that farmers were forced to stay away from their land, for fear of being shot by the occupation forces. The occupation forces between now and then cross into Gaza and fire at citizens, despite the truce agreement which provided for the cessation of hostilities and incursions. The truce agreement was concluded late last November between the resistance factions and Israel. In another development the Israeli army last night arrested a Palestinian near the Gush Etzion, a collection of Israeli settlements south of Bethlehem, accusing him of opening fire at an observation tower in the settlement of Migdal Oz. According to reports published in Yedioth Ahronoth website today an Israeli force arrived after being summoned by settlers after they heard the shooting. The army started combing operation in the vicinity of Migdal Oz, arrested the Palestinian youth and found in his possession a local weapon which he used in firing at the observation tower. The Web site said the young man was transferred for the investigation. No injuries among the ranks of the army or settlers were caused by the firing.
