Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met on Tuesday with Dijoubti Presdent Ismail Omar Guelleh in the presence of Minister of Electricity Mohammad Shaker and Egypt's Ambassador in Ethiopia Mohammad Edriss.
The meeting was held on the fringe of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
Mahlab voiced appreciation of the Egyptian government for Djibouti's backing for Egypt over its recent political and economic developments, noting that there is a strong base for developing bilateral relations in all domains, especially the construction and building as well as trade exchange.
The Egyptian premier proposed establishing a joint Egyptian-Djibouti Contracting Company to open the road for exchange of expertise between the two sides.
The Djibouti president, on his part, welcomed the Egyptian businessmen and companies, voicing hope over pushing forward cooperation with Egypt in the scientific, economic domains, as well as the technical training.
He also praised the recent Arab summit resolutions, and the huge success of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), asserting a consensus in the Egyptian-Djibouti views.
Djibouti officials, on their part, called for resuming the joint Egyptian-Djibouti Committee which was suspended five years ago.
Minister of Electricity Mohammad Shaker also voiced Egypt's readiness to train Djibouti cadres in the electricity sector.
