Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met Sunday with Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co. Ding Shaohua along with his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of Egypt Economic Development Conference, Shaohua congratulated Mahlab on the conference's success.
The conference shows Egypt's steps toward the path of economic reform, he added.
Huawei intends to increase its investments to Egypt within the upcoming period, he noted, adding that the company signed an agreement to produce about 10 million smart electricity meters in coordination with Egypt's Electricity and Renewable Energy.
He, meanwhile, voiced keenness on contributing to supporting Egypt's economy in a way that will attain prosperity for the Egyptian nation and create jobs.
He also noted that China's unit was set up at the Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, in order to discuss projects and programs which will be agreed upon between the two countries.
Egypt has an abundance of natural resources, human capital and opportunities that could be used to promote cooperation between the two sides, he concluded.
