State Minister for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Mohamed Mahsoub said Monday that presidential powers will be decreased by 75% under the current draft constitution. The president now has the legislative power which he took from the military council, and he will lose 40-50% of his executive powers to the prime minister in the new constitution, Mahsoub told Al-Jazeera news channel. Thus, the president who was elected with sweeping powers would have his powers limited, the minister added. Mahsoub also accused sides of making troubles in state institutions in an effort to bring the country back to point zero.
