Deputy Speaker Farid Makari spoke in favor of a new electoral law consensus, expressing his conviction that Parliament will reach a solution to this soon. Delivering his remarks during an interview Saturday to Voice of Lebanon, Makari categorically rejected the draft law submitted by the Orthodox Meeting. Despite difference of opinion amongst March 14 Camp, he emphasized that the links are still very strong between former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, on the one hand, and former President Amine Gemayel and LF Chief Samir Geagea, on the other hand. Until now, according to the Vice-President of the Chamber, the proposed division of Lebanon in 50 reduced constituencies remains the fairest and most equitable to all Lebanese.
