Palestinian man to lift his shirt at a checkpoin

Malaysia has called on the United Nations and its secretary-general to be resolute in their mandate, responsibilities and shared commitment towards a just solution and lasting peace for Palestine, Bernama news agency reported on Thursday.
Malaysian deputy permanent representative to the UN, Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah, said Malaysia reaffirmed its full support towards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people for a sovereign state of Palestine.
"Since the beginning of October 2015, more than 1,520 Palestinians, 60 per cent of them children, have been arrested by Israeli forces. In East Jerusalem, 110 children were arrested, representing an increase of 56 per cent compared to the previous quarter."
"Malaysia also continues to demand an immediate lifting of the blockade on Gaza, and an end to the illegal and inhumane collective punishment carried out by Israel on the people of Gaza," he said in the statement delivered at the plenary meeting of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Nov 24.
