Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki expressed his regret toward what he described as do some lawyers defending of criminals in courts. He said in a speech during the celebrating the 79th anniversary of founding Iraqi Bar Syndicate : \"It is regrettable that some lawyers defending of criminals, as happened during the trial of the former regime president. He continued: \"We must not be money seeker through our practice of legal profession\".
