A 31-year-old man has been arrested in south London on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, Scotland Yard said, according to the Guardian.

The man was in custody at a central London police station after being detained at a business address shortly after 5pm on Thursday.

A Metropolitan police spokesman said the arrest was “being linked to extremist Islamist terrorism”. Armed police were involved in the arrest, the Met said, but no shots were fired.

A residential address in south London was being searched by officers, the force added.
