Beirut - NNA
State Minister Panos Manjian rejected attempts to undermine the Army because this act would end the nation. The MP called on the politicians to exert pressure on Arsal citizens and figures to cooperate with the Lebanese Army and hand over the wanted individuals so that the Army would not be forced to take military measures in the region. "Martyrs Bashaalni and Zahraman are not only martyrs of their families but martyrs of Lebanon," Manjian told "Voice of Lebanon" radio on Tuesday, calling on sides to try perpetrators. He confirmed that the Cabinet should provide complete political cover to all security apparatuses. He criticized the existence of gunmen in all the regions which poses danger on the citizen and nation. On the other hand, the MP expressed fears of failure to achieve consensus on the electoral law amid the ongoing division and not holding elections on schedule. The MP refused to comment on the issue of lifting immunity on Deputy Boutros Harb, leaving this matter to the judiciary.
