Mauritania arrested in the wee hours of Saturday a terrorist over supporting the Daesh group.
Identified as Mohammad Salem al-Majlesy, he was previously sentenced to three years in jail over charges in connection with terrorism, but was released in 2010 after he abandoned his extremist beliefs, in what was called then a 'dialogue with Mauritanian Salafis'.
Al-Majlesy was found guilty of belonging to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and for his misleading fatwa which permitted killing French tourists in 2007.
