Mauritanian lawmaker Mohamed Ould Ahmad Salem called Friday for severing relations with Iran.

The MP said he would launch a signature campaign, demanding cutting ties with Iran.

He also urged Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz to show his country's support for Saudi Arabia in its Operation Decisive Storm against Shiite Houthis militants wanted to oust Yemen's legitimate President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi by cutting diplomatic relations with Iran.
