Mauritanian parliamentarians called on Arab and Islamic countries to cut off ties with Iran over the attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in the city of Mashhad.

The parliamentary team of the Mauritanian-Saudi friendship welcomed in a statement Tuesday the Saudi decision to cut ties with Iran over the attacks which violate international norms and the Vienna agreement on protecting diplomatic missions and their members.

The lawmakers held the Iranian authorities responsible for the repercussions of the crisis.
