A delegation of contact group affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov preparations for a visit by the delegation of the Middle East Quartet to Cairo, MENA learnt on Thursday.
This comes within a visit here by the OIC delegation, led by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The Middle East Quartet's visit to Cairo is expected within the coming few weeks to discuss with a number of Arab League officials the future steps required to activate the Middle East Quartet's role as well as the resumption of negotiations between Palestinians and Israel.
