Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry conferred on issues of mutual interest in New York on Saturday, IRNA reported.

It was the first meeting after the nuclear deal struck in Vienna on July 14, 2015, which led to Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The two sides due to discuss ways to implement JCPOA.

The US media said that Kerry intended to discuss Syrian crisis with the Iranian foreign minister as well.
Iran has made clear that it will exchange views with the United States just only on nuclear issue.
