Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said that Jordan attaches great importance to the current visit of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper during which the two sides will be discussing ways to enhance cooperation. The minister, who is also the acting minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, told Petra on Thursday that Harper's visit is an opportunity to discuss bilateral trade, investment and tourism. "Talks will also cover ways to use the Canadian expertise in the field of using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, based on the nuclear cooperation agreement signed between the two countries," he added. Momani hailed the evolving collaboration between the two countries, particularly economic relations, especially after the activation of the Jordanian-Canadian Free Trade Agreement in 2012, which was the first free trade agreement Canada signed with any Arab state. He added that the Canadian International Development Agency is one of the most important international supporters of Jordan, especially in the fields of education, business skills and women empowerment.
