At least nine militants and one coalition soldier was killed in a multiple suicide attack on International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) base in the Zheri district of southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Monday, said officials. The District Chief, Haji Jamal Agha in a press statement said that the insurgents mounted an attack on the ISAF base and all nine militants were killed by ISAF forces.An ISAF statement confirmed the attack by saying; "We can confirm that enemy forces attacked an ISAF base in southern Afghanistan today. As a result, one ISAF service member was killed. All other ISAF personnel are accounted for." The 205th Atal Military Corps commander, Gen. Abdul Hamid Hamid said that the attackers came in two vehicles.He added that the first vehicle hit the wall of the base that exploded with a big band. The militants were dressed in ISAF uniform trying to force their way inside the base but the ISAF and Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers had killed all the attackers, he added.
