Myanmar and Laos have vowed to cooperate in ensuring security, peace and stability of the two countries, state media reported Thursday. It was discussed at a Myanmar-Lao Ministerial Meeting in Yangon on implementation of memorandum of understanding on cooperation in rule of law between the two countries. The discussions between Myanmar Minister of Home Affairs Lieunant-General Ko Ko and Lao Minister of Public Security Dr. Thongbanh Seng also covered immigration, anti-human trafficking operation, technical exchange and control and management on overseas employees between Myanmar and Laos. During Lao President Choummaly Sayasone's Nay Pyi Taw state visit in last December, leaders of the two countries also touched on anti-drug trafficking and border security. As part of their efforts to facilitate and enhance road connectivity, Myanmar and Laos have started building Mekong River- Crossing Friendship Bridge since February 2013 to link Louangnamtha province of Laos and Kengluk, Tachilek of Myanmar's Shan state under an agreement signed in March 2012.
