National Assembly Speaker and President of the Arab Parliament (AP) Marzouq Al-Ghanim arrived here Thursday night, leading a parliamentary delegation, to take part in a ceremony marking the endorsement of Tunisia's new constitution.They were welcomed at the Tunis Carthage International Airport by Kuwait Ambassador to Tunisia Fahad Al-Awadhi and the diplomatic staff of the embassy as well as chairperson of the Tunisian National Constituent Assembly (NCA) committee on freedoms and rights Su'ad Abdulrahim and NCA executive director for external relations Mohammad KHalifi.Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait TV upon his arrival, Al-Ghanim voiced joy for visiting Tunisia and attending the commemoration of the new constitution, due tomorrow."This visit is very special to me as I'm scheduled to address the ceremony in my triple capacity as NA Speaker, AP President and the GCC parliamentary union," he said. Al-Ghamim lauded that close deep-rooted ties between Kuwait and Tunisia, voicing hope for Tunisia to succeed it its democratic transition after the endorsement of the new constitution.His official visit comes in response to an invitation from President of the NCA Mustafa Bin Jaafar.
