Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he is set to discuss with U.S. President Barack Obama three issues, namely Iran, the unrest in neighbouring Syria and the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. The two officials agreed to discuss these issues in a telephone conversation, Netanyahu said on Sunday. Iran's attempts to amass nuclear weapons, the negative impact of the unrest in Syria on the surrounding region's security, particularly Israel, and peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians will be the topics of discussion, the Israeli prime minister told his cabinet. According to an earlier White House statement, Obama's first visit to Israel will be part of a spring tour of the region, which will include Jordan and the West Bank, but the precise date of the trip was not announced. The trip places further significance on the US-Israeli alliance as it comes at a time when huge revolutions are occurring in the Middle East and North Africa regions, added Netanyahu.
