New Zealand\'s Governor-General Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae arrived on Saturday in the Sultanate of Oman for a three-day visit during which he is to meet with Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The Governor-General will hold talks with senior officials over ways to bolster bilateral ties between the two countries, in addition to discussing regional and international issues of common interest. Sir Jerry Mateparae was received by Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said and a number of senior officials. It is Mateparae\'s first visit to the Sultanate.
