US President Barack Obama discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a telephone call on Thursday ongoing cooperation in the fight against Deash group and common efforts to bring about security and stability to Iraq and Syria, the White House said in a statement.
The two leaders reviewed the train-and-equip program for the moderate Syrian opposition, the statement said.
They also discussed efforts to deepen cooperation to stem the flow of foreign fighters, it said.
Obama expressed appreciation for Turkey's support to nearly two million refugees from Iraq and Syria, the statement added.
