US media reported late on Wednesday that President Barack Obama is expected to select James Comey as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Comey, a registered Republican, served twice as an appointee of former President George W. Bush as US Attorney in Manhattan and later as Deputy Attorney General. He is expected to succeed the current director of FBI Robert Mueller.
