US President Barack Obama hailed on Tuesday Omani efforts for releasing American nationals who were taken hostage in Yemen.

This came during a phone call between Obama and Sultan Qaboos bin Saed of Oman.

During the phone call, Obama asserted that the US backs all political solutions aimed at solving the Yemeni crisis and meeting the urgent humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people.

Also, the US president thanked Sultan Qaboos for the ongoing Omani endeavors to back international efforts to tackle the situation in Yemen.
