US President Barack Obama will welcome Irish Prime Minister Edna Kenny to the White House next week for bilateral talks, the White House announced early Wednesday. The day-long meeting on Tuesday, March 19, will also include ceremonies in honor of the St. Patrick's Day holiday, including a lunch at the US Capitol and an evening reception at the White House. "The United States and Ireland share a strong bilateral partnership, enduring people-to-people ties, and a commitment to advancing peace, security and prosperity in the world," The White House said in a statement. The President will also greet First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness of Northern Ireland at the White House on March 19 to discuss their progress toward meeting their shared commitment to a peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Northern Ireland.
