Following a phone call between Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and US president Barack Obama Wednesday, the Mexican Foreign Ministry said it was agreed that US President Barack Obama will pay is to visit Mexico during the first week of May. This is set to be Obama\'s first visit to the United States\'southern neighbour since Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto took office on December 1. \"The meeting between presidents will allow them to reaffirm the strategic importance of bilateral relations,\" the ministry said. Obama and Pena Nieto are expected to discuss competitiveness,education and innovation, border issues, trade, migration and violence, among other issues. Obama first visited Mexico in June 2012, when he was in the resort town of Los Cabos for a G20 summit. Felipe Calderon was Mexico\'s president at the time.
