Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

An official reception ceremony will be held Monday morning at Singapore's Istana Palace for Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

A session of talks will also be held with Singaporean President Tony Tan to be followed by an expanded session of talks in the presence of the two countries' delegations in order to discuss ways of boosting bilateral ties along with combating terrorism and a host of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Sisi will also meet during his visit to Istana Palace with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, said Egypt's Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

He further said that the Singaporean president will host a dinner banquet in honor of Sisi, added the spokesman.

Sisi will also hold a meeting with senior investors in Singapore over a luncheon at his residence, the spokesman said, adding that Sisi will give an interview to NewsAsia Channel and will then head for Singapore's Presidential Palace to attend the banquet hosted by the Singaporean president in honor of Sisi.

On the third day of his visit, Sisi will pay a visit to Singapore's Port before he wraps up his visit to the country.

Sisi will also hold a meeting with a host of businessmen, which will be of special importance, especially for the Singaporean side, who voiced keenness on intensifying presence in the Egyptian market after the opening of the New Suez Canal, said the spokesman.

Sisi's visit to Singapore is the first by an Egyptian president since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966 and also coincides with Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence.
